Building a sustainable future for our cycling community

It all started 25 years ago with a simple, enduring idea: riding with friends. Over the decades, that core spirit has guided our evolution—from finding our voice in bike safety advocacy ten years ago to becoming a structured club with ride leaders and a digital home five years back. Today, we are starting our next chapter, as a formal non-profit organization. This transition is the key to fully realizing our vision: a community where we can discover the best local routes, push our personal fitness and endurance, and advocate for the safer roads we all deserve. No matter how much we grow, our mission remains stripped down to that original spark—it's about riding with friends.

To ensure we can continue this ride, we're moving to a formal membership model. This provides the essential foundation—such as liability insurance and non-profit status—required to protect our organization and keep our wheels turning for years to come.

What your membership supports

Your contribution directly funds the logistics of our ride calendar and our outreach efforts. This summer, we aim to offer:

Guided weekend rides

A, B, and C level rides on most summer weekends.

Monday night social rides

With post-ride camaraderie!

Challenge series

Special longer-distance or higher-intensity rides for those looking to test their limits and put in the prep work

Discounts

Discounts are currently being curated for members (think reduced registration fees on organized ride events and discounts at local proprietors!) -- details to come.

Annual membership sticker

Your badge for the year ahead! Your sticker. Your perks. Your community.

Peace of mind

Organized rides. Safety in numbers. Insurance in place. Find an appropriate ride for you based on our ride expectation guidelines and enjoy!

Library of GPS routes

A growing list of GPS guided cycling routes that can be downloaded to your device. Routes are designed for a range of riders. We are also including endurance distances and special destination routes.

Ongoing advocacy

Your membership enables our continued support of cycling advocacy through League of American Bicyclists, Active Transportation Alliance, and Ride Illinois (we’ve been making financial contribution to them on your behalf for two years now). We’re helping to advance safer streets and better infrastructure statewide and locally.

Your cycling scene

Membership fuels the local cycling scene -- strengthening our community, expanding access, and keeping the wheels turning!

Choosing your tier

We’ve kept our membership simple, with tiers designed to reflect how you plan to engage with the club. We aren't here to gatekeep; we trust our members to choose the level that best fits their typical riding habits.

The Community tier – $17

This is the perfect fit for riders who primarily join us for our Monday night social rides, but who might try an occasional ‘C’ ride. It’s a great way to support the club’s advocacy mission and stay connected with the local cycling scene at an accessible price point.

The Endurance tier – $37

If you plan to join our weekend A, B or C rides, we ask that you become an Endurance level member. This higher tier helps offset the additional coordination and insurance considerations involved in our faster, more technical group sessions.

Not ready to commit? Be our guest!

If you’re new to the group or just passing through, you are welcome to join us as a guest for up to three rides. This gives you a chance to experience our rides, find the group that fits your pace, and see what our community is all about before signing up. Guests are required to sign a standard waiver before rolling out. Once you’ve hit your three-ride limit, we ask that you choose the membership tier that best matches your riding intent to help support the club.

The "try it out" philosophy

We believe in growth. If you are a Community-level member and feel ready to test your legs on a weekend A, B or C ride, you are always welcome to join! We simply ask that you review the ride expectations regarding pace and self-sufficiency beforehand. If you are comfortable there, then come ride (and next year, join at the Endurance Membership level!).

Ultimately, we ask that you assess your intent. If the weekend A/B/C rides are a staple of your summer schedule, the Endurance tier is your home. If you’re here for the social connection and advocacy, the Community tier is for you.

We kindly request that you choose your tier and click join before your next ride!

Regardless of the level you choose, you are a vital part of this club. Thank you for helping us build a safer, stronger, and more sustainable cycling community.
